Nurse In Charge
One (1) Permanent Full Time Position
Wabasca, Alberta
The Bigstone Health Commission in Wabasca, Alberta is seeking an experienced Nurse in Charge to join our talented Health Team. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervision of Nurse Management for the Community & Public Health and Homecare departments.
- Assume responsibility for direct patient care and promote inter-disciplinary patient care planning and patient education taking into consideration different cultural, psychosocial and age associated needs of patients
- Design and implement a care delivery model, respond to the need for new and/or enhanced programs or services
- Manage patient care activities within the budget and productivity goals and ensure staffing meets patient needs in a fiscally responsible manner; prepare monthly reports
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution
- Adhere to administrative policies and procedure concerning safety, reporting procedures for accidents and incidents, hygiene, infection and prevention control, etc. and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Act as a liaison among staff and other stakeholders to ensure that goals are achieved, processes are improved and resolutions provided to problems
- Knowledgeable regarding the nursing process and its application, including the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
- Good interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills and demonstrated teaching skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a recognized Post-Secondary Institution
- Must be registered and in good standing with CARNA Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical management experience in emergency and/or primary care
- Experience working with First Nation communities is an asset
- All immunizations must be up to date Must be willing to relocate to Wabasca – Accommodations Provided
