Job Description
Our client is an independent, accredited surgical clinic looking for a full-time Operating Room Nurse Manager. In this role, you will lead the OR and PACU team of clinic staff, working closely with the surgeons, and you will report jointly to the Medical Director and Clinic Director. To be considered for this position, you must have a Registered Nurse diploma of BScN, 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role, current registration with CNO, and perioperative certification or equivalent experience. This role provides a variety of exciting educational and professional development opportunities in a state of the art surgical clinic.

Responsibilities:
- Manage immediate pre-operative, intra-operative, and immediate post-operative care
- Ensure that perioperative personnel provide safe and effective patient-centered care
- Provide direct care to patients as needed
- Direct and advise OR nurses
- Ensure supply/instrumentation needs are met
- Generate and maintain surgical reports and benchmarking
- Ensure educational resources are available for OR/PACU personnel and hold personnel accountable for compliance with established standards
- Evaluate performance of staff nurses, provide feedback and mentoring, develop education programs, and contribute to staff professional development
- Recruitment and retention of perioperative nurses, including orientation
- Supervise and direct MDRD staff
- Manage warranties and special access programs
- Lead for quality assurance and member of health and safety committee
- Administrative responsibilities: staffing, budgeting, quality improvement, infection control, ensuring accreditation standards are met, liaison with OHP/CPSO
Requirements:
- RN (diploma or BScN)
- 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role
- Current BCLS/C.P.R. Certification
- Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Perioperative Nursing Certificate or equivalent experience
- Effective communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Aesthetic/cosmetic surgical experience an asset
- Recovery room experience an asset
