Position: Registered Nurse

Department: Surgical Program - Operating Room/Ambulatory Procedures Unit

Status: Permanent Part-time (must provide availability of up to 0.2 FTE)

Hours: Monday to Sunday - Various rotating 8 hour shifts; 0730-1530, 0900-1700, 1500-2300, on call, stand-by (on-call evenings and weekends; subject to change based on operational requirements)

This is what you'll be doing:

R esponsible for the planning, executing, directing and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to the surgical patient, t he successful candidate will function within the multidisciplinary team and rotate through all surgical specialties (orthopedics including total joints, general, gynecology, vascular, urology, otolaryngology, cysto and ophthalmology) working a variety of shifts including on call.

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
  • Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
  • Perioperative Certification required
  • Minimum three years OR experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player, ability to utilize critical thinking skills, positive caring attitude, flexible and willingness to learn.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.

Salary: $34.24 to $49.02 per hour
