Position: Clinical Resource Nurse

Department: Medical Surgical Outpatient Clinics

Status: Permanent Full-Time

Hours: Monday - Friday - Days 0800-1600 (Hours are subject to change based on operational requirements)

Responsibilities:

• In collaboration with the Patient Care Manger facilitates and coordinates activities and the flow of Clinic patients and their families requiring Ambulatory services.

• Serves as a clinical role model and resource in providing expert clinical support to the staff in the care of the Clinic patients and their families.

• Facilitates the staffing needs of the Ambulatory Care team.

• Assists the Patient Care Manager in the hiring of staff, performance appraisal processes, budgetary planning, monitoring and management; utilization management; quality program development and indicator monitoring as appropriate.

• Regularly monitors activities and service delivery through a quality lens identifying areas for quality improvement, with a focus on the patient experience.

• Contributes to the overall vision of the organization, accepts and completes special projects as assigned incorporating LEAN methodology.

• Models professional practice related to clinical practice standards and interpersonal skills.

• Oversees day to day operational departmental needs such as equipment and its maintenance, supplies and materials management.

Qualifications:

Halton Healthcare Services is seeking individuals who are competent in their chosen profession; patient/customer focused; team players; effective communicators; caring and respectful and are fiscally responsible
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • BScN or BN required
  • Masters preferred
  • Current BCLS Certification required
  • Exhibits clinical expertise in a medical surgical setting with demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Medical Surgical experience required
  • Ability to provide strong leadership to nursing staff and other team members in critical/complex situations to ensure optimum patientcare needs and outcomes
  • Demonstrated commitment to and participation on a regular basis in educational programs/upgrading.
  • Demonstrated ability to support Program Director, Patient Care Manager, Physicians and other multidisciplinary professionals and Halton Healthcare Services with managing change and other organizational objectives.
  • Exhibits positive progressive vision
  • Excellent teaching, mentoring, and public relations skills.
  • Exceptional problem solving and conflict management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel programs an asset.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required

Salary Range: $36.10 - $50.84 per hour
