Reporting to the Manager, you will be responsible for providing excellent care to a diverse patient population in the Oncology Clinic.

Requirements:

•Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
•Current BCLS and Ontario Certificate of Competency
•Current Provincial Standardized Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course through de Souza Institute
•Current Oncology/Palliative Care RN experience
•Minimum of current/recent 2 years of chemotherapy and biotherapy administration experience
•Experience initiating IV′s and management of central venous catheters and venous accessing devices,
•Demonstrated critical thinking and nursing assessment skills for medically complex patient/family populations.
•Ability to work in a fast paced changing environment that focuses on patient centered care
•Ability to effectively apply Principles of Adult Learning for patients and families to actively facilitate treatment and education.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills utilized as a dynamic team player
•Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication and documentation skills
•Demonstrated focus on internal/external customer service and partnerships
•Utilize protective equipment provided and identify and reports hazards
•Engages in ethical conduct and strives to understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient/staff population and community
•Excellent work performance and attendance record
• Demonstrates values consistent with SHN′s Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation.
• Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, and environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area.
• Demonstrates excellent work performance and attendance record

•Ability to speak another language
