We are hiring a PSW/DSW/SSW/HCA to visit clients for 1-2 hour visits for days in the Ajax/Pickering area. Mileage will be paid at $0.52/km driven from client to client.

Duties and Responsibilities:This position is for a visiting PSW, providing in-home care for one hour per visit. Must be comfortable travelling to and from clients' homes throughout the day within the community. Care includes: assisting with mobility and transfers; meal preparation and feeding; assisting with daily activities, personal care, and light housekeeping

Qualifications:
  • PSW/DSW/SSW/HCW certification from an approved and recognized educational institution
  • RN student with a minimum successful completion of 3 years, or RPN student with a minimum successful completion of 1 year
  • Valid Police Vulnerable Sectors Check
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Up-to-date Immunization Record, including two COVID-19 vaccinations
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle is required
  • Ability to read, write and speak English (equivalent to grade 10 level).
  • Demonstrated commitment to client and family-centred care.
  • Use of proper body mechanics and successful completion of physical readiness test to ensure safe work practices are followed including mobility, transfers, bending, lifting, push and pulling.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize safety concerns
  • Communicate effectively using a computer and/or mobile device.
  • Requires good judgement, the ability to work independently and work cooperatively with the caregiving team.
  • Effective problem solving and decision-making skills to safely service clients.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
