Full-Time, Part-Time, and Casual Opportunities – Brockville, ON

Brockville General Hospital (BGH) is a great place to deliver quality patient-centred care as part of an interprofessional team, providing clinical nursing care while enjoying all that Brockville – City of the 1,000 Islands – and the beautiful surrounding area have to offer, whether you prefer being close to the water, or living in a quiet historic neighbourhood or a more rural community.

Under the supervision of the Unit Manager, and the coordination of the Charge Nurse, you’ll work as a member of the Unit team in providing quality nursing care to a patient or group of patients, in alignment with the Standards of Nursing Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and the standards of the particular nursing unit. A key aspect of your role as a Registered Nurse will involve participating in service and hospital-wide activities and programs that model and promote a safe and healthy patient-centred environment, and contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives.

As an RN, you’ll be expected to maintain competence and skills through on-going participation in continuing education, as well as demonstrate proof of such participation, in addition to participating actively in the CNO Quality Assurance Program.

As a designated Rural Community Hospital, Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses working at Brockville General Hospital may be eligible for the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program. Please visit the Canada website http://www.canada.ca/ for details.

Opportunities to diversify your skillset in a growing and thriving community hospital are available for Registered Nurses in all departments, including Rehab, Integrated Stroke, Palliative Care, Complex Care and Medical-Surgical, working all shifts (days, evenings, nights and weekends).

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for the role of Registered Nurse, you must thrive in a patient-centred environment and possess:

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Valid BCLS and ability to maintain certification throughout the employment period. Current membership in the RNAO, preferred. Computer literacy and teaching experience, an asset. Excellent assessment, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to assume shift charge nurse responsibilities.
