The Burk’s Falls Family Health Team (BFFHT) is located 30 minutes north of Huntsville in the beautiful Almaguin Highlands. Our team is comprised of nurses, physicians, a nurse practitioner, a social worker, a health promoter and an administrative team. We are focused on improving access to comprehensive, patient-centered primary health care to over 4200 residents across our region. The BFFHT is currently searching for a:
Registered Nurse – Temporary (up to 18 month contract)
Working in a team based environment you will be responsible for implementation of multiple programs and services. You will also provide patient education, health promotion and patient advocacy both internally and with community partners. We are targeting a mid to late July start date for the successful candidate. This is a full-time temporary position working 34 hours weekly.
Position responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Direct patient care including patient assessment and history, immunizations, well baby checks, pre-natal care, diabetes management, hypertension management, Coumadin monitoring, wound care, and assisting with procedures On-site and telephone triage and follow up System navigation assistance; arrange appropriate follow-up, appointments, referrals and investigations Chart and communicate with the team within the EMR (Accuro) system Various administrative duties including ordering vaccines, monitoring vaccine storage, ordering clinical supplies, and sterilization of equipment
Education, Qualification and Skills
- Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario Evidence of strong clinical skill sets Valid CPR/AED certification Previous experience in a primary care setting an asset Recent experience with Electronic Medical Record systems Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Must adhere to all BFFHT Policies and Procedures Must be legally entitled to work in Canada Criminal records check is required
