We currently have a Temporary Full-Time (until approx. July 2023) opportunity for a Permanent Registered Nurse Team Leader in the Operating Room department at our Holland campus.

Hours of Work:

Weekdays: Days, 8hrs; As per schedule

Summary of Duties

The Permanent Team Leader assists in the provision of clinical patient care in concert with the mission, philosophy, values and objectives of the Organization and related programs. The Permanent Team Leader works in collaboration with Perioperative Patient Care Managers II and APN to identify and resolve clinical patient care issues. The Permanent Team Leader facilitates the development of staff clinical knowledge, skills and teamwork needed to function efficiently and effectively in their assigned roles. The Permanent Team Leader is involved in identifying and managing specific requirements of the surgical specialty to ensure a positive perioperative experience for the patient. The Permanent Team Leader should demonstrate professionalism, dedication, exceptional organizational skills and commitment in his/her standards of nursing practice. This role will also be responsible to assist/cover Operations Coordinator as needed.

  • Primary responsibility to Ortho Surgery,
  • Current Ontario Registration
  • Current B.C.L.S. Certificate
  • Completion of post-graduate O.R. certificate required
  • BScN or equivalent preferred
  • Extensive recent related experience in O.R. with excellent knowledge of all specialties required
  • Significant recent related O.R. experience in Ortho Surgery required
  • Consistent nursing experience strongly preferred
  • CNA perioperative certificate is an asset
  • Demonstrated above average technical ability
  • Demonstrated ability to organize well, communicate effectively at all levels, function in a stressful environment, work with minimal direction, teach other staff members, students, etc.
  • Able to accommodate changing departmental needs in relation to working hours.
