We currently have a Regular Part-time (0.6 FTE) opportunity for a Registered Nursein the Schulich Heart Program - Arrhythmia Services at our Bayview Campus.

Summary of Duties
The main functions of the RN include, but are not limited to:
- Pre- and post-operative assessment of patients undergoing arrhythmia device implants, intra-operative support during ICD, pacemaker, and ILR implants, device interrogation and programming of in and out patients in clinic setting
- This role requires wearing a lead apron during device implantation procedure
- The RN supports the philosophy of Person-Centred Care as well as the principles, mission and values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre
- The RN works closely with other members of the interprofessional team
Qualifications/Skills
- Current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BCLS certificate
- Current ACLS certification an asset
- Critical Care or Coronary Care experience preferred
- Previous experience with cardiac arrhythmia management and associated devices preferred
- Previous Cath Lab experience preferred
- Previous patient/staff education experience preferred
- Demonstrate knowledge of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators
- Demonstrate commitment to continued education
- Ability to adapt to a fast-changing and stressful environment in a positive manner
- Demonstrated effective ability in: interpersonal relationships; oral and written communication skills; priority setting skills; problem solving; decision making; facilitating team work; conflict resolution & time management
- Commitment to the quality care of our patients, evidence based practice and a clear understanding of professional standards
- Ability to integrate and apply critical thinking skills to patient care within scope of practice
- Ability to function independently and as a part of the interprofessional team
- Commitment to promoting healthy work environment
