POSITION:                        Nurse Practitioner

                                      Full Time

                                     

                                     

SHIFTS/HOURS:                 37.5 hrs/week

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Nurse Practitioner (Registered Nurse in the Extended Class) with certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario with license to prescribe controlled substances
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or equivalent preferred
  • Completion of the Prescription and Management of Controlled Drugs and Substances Course
  • Experience in clinical program development and evaluation
  • BCLS certification
  • Demonstrated ability to direct, provide and evaluate holistic care for  post-acute clients ranging in age from young adult to geriatric
  • Demonstrated commitment to best practice, nursing standards and life-long learning
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic reasoning skills, with a demonstrated commitment to collaborative practice
  • Demonstrated leadership in committee work, education, quality improvement, policy & procedure development, and knowledge translation initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team including physician, NPs, nurses and allied health.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Good attendance record
