We currently have a Regular Full-Time opportunity for a Registered Practical Nurse in the Veterans Centre - K2C department at our Bayview campus.


Hours of Work:


Weekdays: Days, Nights; 8hrs; As per schedule
Alternating Weekends: Days, Nights; 8hrs; As per schedule
Statutory Holidays Required

Summary of Duties

RPNs are responsible for the total care of a group of residents within a primary nursing care delivery model within their scope of practice. The RPN supports the Philosophy of Patient-Focused Care concept and principles and the Mission and Values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The RPN works closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications/Skills
  • Current Ontario College of Nurses Registration required
  • Current BCLS certification required
  • RPN Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year gerontology nursing experience
  • Experience in Long Term Care
  • Patient and family focused care philosophy required
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with primary nursing an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
