Registered Nurses (RNs)

The Regional Municipality of Durham is currently seeking Registered Nurses for Lakeview Manor, 148-bed long term care home situated in Beaverton.

Beaverton is located in Brock Township, and is approximately 45 minutes north of Whitby and 30 minutes south of Orillia.

We have multiple vacancies available:

• Temporary Full-Time (Nights, 12-hr & 8-hr shifts)
• Regular Part-Time (Days/Nights, 12-hr & 8-hr shifts)

Qualifications:

• A current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
• Related experience in a geriatric or Long Term Care environment is preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of and compliance with safe work practices
• Proven communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to follow both oral and written instructions
• Demonstrated empathy, concern and interest in providing quality care and service for residents
• Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the job
• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities

Major Responsibilities:

• Assess the individual nursing care needs of residents in the Home
• Coordinate the development and ongoing evaluation of resident care plans with the interdisciplinary team
• Plan, supervise and coordinate the work of Registered Practical Nurses and Personal Support Workers

Other: The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check dated within two (2) months from date of hire. Additionally, tuberculosis screening will be required in accordance with the LTCH Act (O.Reg. 79/10). Proof of education, qualifications and any other job bona fide requirements will also be collected.  In addition, all employees working in a Long-Term Care home are required to be fully vaccinated, or have a valid medical exemption, as defined by the Ministry of Long-term Care, as a condition of hire.
