As an integral part of our CBI Home Health care team, you will be the Point of Care go-to person, using your nursing judgement to assess and deliver routine and advanced nursing duties in the home and/or clinic setting. As a Shift / Visiting Nurse, you will identify problems and implement nursing care plans in conjunction with the client and/or family and other members of the health care team. You will acknowledge and implement the physician’s orders with accuracy and within the scope of practice, and manage stressful situations calmly and professionally at all times.

As a Shift / Visiting Nurse, you will:

  • Provide excellent nursing care, which may include wound care, IV therapy, palliative care, and tube feeding and medication administration, using your assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation and health teaching skills.
  • Work in the field/community/clinic setting, supporting clients and employees.
  • Be available to work every other weekend.
  • Participate in the on-call/after-hours rotation.


To take on the role of Shift / Visiting Nurse, you must have:

  • Current RPN or RN registration with the CNO, and compliance with all applicable laws relating to nursing practice in Ontario.
  • Professional Liability Protection, CPR and First Aid, a Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector screening,
  • Knowledge of IV initiation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge and experience in medical/surgical procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict management skills.
  • Advanced wound care experience, an asset.
  • Palliative and symptom management knowledge and experience, an asset.
  • Experience in community nursing, an asset
