The Opportunity

Reporting to the Administrator, the Director of Care, Clinical, Brucelea Haven is responsible for maintaining the highest standard of resident-focused nursing care, while meeting or exceeding the requirements of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. The Director will be a peer with the Director of Care (Quality & Standards), providing effective leadership, management and evaluation of the nursing program and ensuring efficient utilization of human, physical and financial resources, while ensuring that continuous quality improvement outcomes are met or exceeded, and demonstrating dedication to professional values and the mission, vision and values of long-term care.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with studies in Geriatrics and/or Nursing Administration
  • 5 years’ experience as a registered nurse with 3 years supervisory experience in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care facilities with the ability to identify issues, implement creative and strategic solutions, plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies while supervising and motivating a team to achieve/exceed goals.
  • Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all direct reports and identify measures of performance and actions needed to improve or correct performance. Experience with budget preparation and management and a well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
