Registered Nurse/Lactation Co-ordinator
To support us on our journey, Sinai Health System is looking for regular part-time and temporary full-time Registered Nurse/Lactation Co-ordinators to support our Postnatal Ambulatory team at our Mount Sinai Hospital Campus. As a Registered Nurse/Lactation Co-ordinator you will be responsible for the delivery of family centred nursing care/breastfeeding support to inpatients and ambulatory patients referred to the Breastfeeding Centre. In addition, you will provide formal education programs related to breastfeeding and parenting for patients, their families, and health professionals. You will also participate in program planning, quality improvement and personal and peer professional development activities.
Your registration with the CNO is supported by certifications in IBCLC and Basic Cardiac Life Support. Your well-developed maternal-newborn physical/psychosocial assessment skills complements your 3 – 5 years’ recent experience in perinatal nursing and 1 – 2 years’ recent experience in a lactation consultant role preferable in an ambulatory setting. You have a commitment to professional practice and personal development, shared leadership and team-based decision making, and demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
