Summary of responsibilities

Reporting to the Professional Practice Director, the professional practice advisor, will be responsible for promoting nursing care excellence throughout the hospital by conducting program evaluations and research,  assisting in the development of leadership in nursing, clinical-administrative management and health policy. You will use your advanced knowledge and clinical judgment to ensure care excellence and to manage complex care cases. . You will serve as a consultant among health professionals, clinical teams and partner organizations.

Profile and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a master’s degree in Nursing
  • A doctoral degree, completed or in progress, would be a great asset
  • A valid certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Valid CPR certification
  • Minimum of three (3) years of recent clinical experience in an acute care setting
  • Research and teaching experience
  • Experience implementing and coordinating projects to improve quality of care
  • Knowledge of IT systems related to the activities of clinical services
