Vice President, Nursing/ Clinical Services & Chief Nursing Executive
Located in the municipality of North Grenville, Kemptville is a lively, fast-growing community that boasts two of the top-rated schools in Ontario and is a vibrant tourist and recreation destination. Kemptville District Hospital (KDH) is a 40-bed health care facility serving residents in North Grenville and South Ottawa. KDH is accredited with national exemplary standing and offers an array of services including 24-hour emergency care, advanced orthopaedic surgery, in-hospital care, state of the art diagnostic imaging, and a wide variety of medical and surgical specialists’ clinics.
As a result of an upcoming reassignment, KDH is seeking a VP, Nursing/ Clinical Services & Chief Nursing Executive (VP/CNE) to join its senior executive team. A key member of the Executive Committee reporting to the CEO, the VP/CNE will support the overall operation of the hospital, working closely with the team to provide excellent service to the community.
The VP/ CNE will provide managerial and clinical leadership, ensuring 24-hour accountability for the delivery of quality patient and family centred care in a fiscally responsible manner. They will oversee the coordination and utilization of human, financial, and other resources while facilitating continuous quality improvement and risk management. The VP/CNE will be a key member in leading and directing interdisciplinary planning and communication, directing projects, committees, and programs to fulfil the goals and objectives of KDH. A lifelong learner themselves, they will foster education of students, professional development of staff, and delivery of evidence-based, best practice care through utilization of available research and standards.
As a strong collaborator and networker, the VP/CNE will build strong relationships with peers within the region to assist KDH with meeting its mission and strategic directions, as well as foster links within the hospital and with outside agencies and institutions to promote a continuum of health care. They are highly analytical with a proven ability to find meaning in data. They are a strong problem solver able to prioritize to focus on accomplishing key objectives and attaining workable solutions.
The ideal candidate for the VP/ CNE role has a Master’s in Health Administration, Health Sciences, or a related field from an accredited learning institution. They possess a minimum of five years of progressive management experience in a hospital setting, as well as a minimum of five years of related nursing and clinical experience. A compelling communicator, the incumbent will be an experienced People Leader and team builder who can attract, engage, retain, mentor, and coach a high performing team.
