Reporting to the Director, Nursing & Clinical Services, the Manager, Surgical Services & MDRD is responsible for improving patient quality and safety across Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) and for the coordination and provision of patient care and services at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital and South Muskoka Memorial Hospital sites of MAHC.

 

While providing leadership and promoting inter-professional practice, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, you will plan, organize, and direct the day-to-day activities within these departments, taking an active role in ensuring smooth daily operations. While furthering the goals and objectives of MAHC you will be responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining a structure and care model that best meets the needs of the patients, staff, occupational health and safety, and the organization.

 

An excellent communicator with exceptional organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills you provide strong planning, interpersonal, facilitation, team building and coaching skills while working independently and as part of a dynamic team.

 

Currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario, you have an undergraduate degree in nursing or equivalent. Recognized credentials in Operating Room / Surgical nursing is preferred. You have successfully completed an MDRD Certificate and possess a minimum of 6 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse with a focus in Operating Room / Surgical nursing. A minimum of 3 years’ current management / leadership experience is an asset.
