Quality & Clinical Standards Specialist (Quality, OpX, Research & Innovation)
Temporary Full-Time


Overview 

This role reports to the Manager, Organizational Quality & Safety and works closely with the Office of the Chief Nurse Executive.  The Quality & Clinical Standards Specialist will support the organization to meet the ongoing requirements of Accreditation Canada and support clinical practice standardization across the organization.  As this role will be the primary point of contact to execute the organization, planning, communication and engagement related to accreditation sustainability, the ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of large scale project management, be detail oriented with strong analytical skills and have the ability to build strong relationships with key clinical and non-clinical stakeholders. This role will utilize patient safety measures and key performance indicators to support efforts that minimize risk across the organization while using innovative solutions to evaluate and track performance according to defined standards of care.

Education
-  Undergraduate degree in nursing required.
-  Master's degree in a related health care field preferred.
-  A member of the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.

Qualifications
-  Minimum five (5) years of health care experience required.
-  Demonstrated experience using project management methodology and tools to support the delivery of all accreditation logistics and timelines.
-  Previous experience and knowledge of the Accreditation Canada Qmentum process, including Accreditation Canada standards and Required Organizational Practices and key legislation such as, the Excellent Care for All Act.
-  Knowledge and understanding of the principles of High Reliability Organization (HRO).
-  Excellent written and verbal communication- a strong listener, speaker and presenter with experience in facilitating groups with competing interests.
-  Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to maintain flexibility, prioritize workload and remain detail oriented in the face of changing priorities.
-  Superior analytical skills to analyze and interpret results of accreditation self-assessments, instruments, and tracer findings.
-  Solid relationship management, decision making, negotiation, influencing, consultation, and coaching skills.
-  Expert knowledge of technical software and proficient in computer skills with Microsoft Office Professional, with experience creating presentations, reports, and briefing notes.
