Nursing Policy Analyst
The Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario is seeking a committed, knowledgeable and passionate Registered Nurse to join our Nursing and Health Policy team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to RNAO’s mission to advance healthy public policy and to promote the full participation of registered nurses, nurse practitioners and nursing students in health systems transformation.
As a Nursing Policy Analyst you will formulate policies and initiatives that enhance and contribute to the quality of clinical nursing practice and promote nursing excellence. The primary responsibilities of this role are to develop and formulate policy by identifying and analyzing critical nursing practice issues across the spectrum of practice settings including primary care, hospital care, and/or home care. You will conduct environmental scanning and research for policy development related to nursing scope of practice, standards of practice, and/or social determinants of health to develop background and/or position papers for external dissemination. You will represent RNAO in a variety of settings with other stakeholders and the government as required.
You are a Registered Nurse and a member of RNAO and the College of Nurses of Ontario. Candidates will have a Master’s degree in nursing, health policy, political science or a related field. RN(EC) is an asset. You will bring at least five years progressive experience to the role including prior experience in nursing research, policy and/or nursing practice. Strong knowledge of nursing practice and standards of practice is a must in this role. The successful candidate will possess superior written and oral communication skills. This is a full-time position. Salary commensurate with experience. RNAO is a member of HOOPP.
