The Health Centre is dedicated to the total well-being of everyone in our school community, to enable students and staff to attain and maintain the highest level of wellness – physically, spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically. The Director of Health Services provides leadership and oversight to the operation of the Health Centre which includes a team of Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Physicians and Circle of Care Coordinator. The Health Centre works collaboratively with the Athletic Therapy clinic and the Student Wellness Coordinator.
As a Registered Nurse the Director of Health Services provides health care to the school community, including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of student health and health care programs, direct nursing care, and counselling services, in accordance with the guidelines and requirements of the College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Nursing Practice, and the Health Discipline Act.
The Director of Health Services will act as an advisor to the Leadership Team to identify emerging trends and risks and provide recommendations in relation to serious health crisis and mitigation strategies and as well as the development of School safety plans.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a Registered Nurse, with 3-5 years of Nursing experience preferably in a similar setting. Previous experience in leading a team and working collaboratively in a cross-functional setting is required. Candidates must illustrate knowledge of health care standards, emerging issues and best practices for the development and delivery of health and safety programs, particularly as related to children and youth, as well as knowledge of all relevant legislation and regulations.
