Qualifications for Registered Nurse – Career Fair February 4th and February 5th 2021

DEPARTMENT/CAMPUS:
Cardiology – Brampton Civic Hospital

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 years Acute Medicine experience required 
  • Cardiac experience within the last 5 years preferred
  • Coronary Care 1 required 
  • Must pass an arrhythmia quiz obtaining an 80% to move onto the interview phase required 
  • Must pass Cardiology Challenge exam obtaining an 80% within 30 days of hire
  • Experience performing 12 lead ECG and/or rhythm interpretation (within the past 2 years) required
  • Experience in care of patient with TPN, NG Tubes, Chest Tubes, Wound care, Enteral Feeds, I.V. therapy, Blood collection and Isolation (within the last 2 years) preferred

DEPARTMENT/CAMPUS:
Coronary Critical Care – Brampton Civic Hospital

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Acute care experience within the last 5 years, with a minimum of 2 years in an acute cardiac or critical care environment required 
  • ACLS required
  • Coronary Care I and II required, or successful completion of Critical Care certificate 
  • Must pass an arrhythmia quiz obtaining an 80% to move on to the interview phase 
  • Critical Care certificate preferred 

DEPARTMENT/CAMPUS:
MH Intensive – Brampton Civic Hospital

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience within the last 5 years, with a minimum of 3 years within Mental Health required 
  • Crisis experience required
  • Canadian Nurses Association certification in psychiatric mental health nursing required 
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention model required
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Act required
  • Ability to recognize, intervene, and de-escalate clinical and psychosocial situations, as well as, management of behaviours is required

DEPARTMENT/CAMPUS:
N. MH Emergency Services Unit -  Brampton Civic Hospital

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience within the last 5 years, with a minimum of 3 years within Mental Health crisis unit required 
  • Crisis and Mental Health Emergency Services Unit experience preferred 
  • Canadian Nurses Association certification in psychiatric mental health nursing preferred 
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention model required 
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Act required 
  • Ability to recognize, intervene, and de-escalate clinical and psychosocial situations, as well as, management of behaviours is required    

DEPARTMENT/CAMPUS:
N. Cardiac Procedure Unit Out -  Brampton Civic Hospital

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Experience within the last 5 years, with a minimum of 3 years within Mental Health required
  • Crisis experience required
  • Canadian Nurses Association certification in psychiatric mental health nursing preferred
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention model required
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Act required
  • Ability to recognize, intervene, and de-escalate clinical and psychosocial situations, as well as, management of behaviours is required

 UNIT QUALIFICATIONS:

• Critical care experience within the last 5 years, with a minimum of 3 years in Acute Resus, CCU and/or ICU is required  • Coronary care I and II required 
• ACLS required
• Must pass an arrhythmia quiz obtaining an 80% to move on to the interview phase  • Experience with hemodynamic monitoring is required
• Femoral and Radial arterial management experience is required
• Strong background in cardiovascular physiology, electrocardiography and rhythm interpretation required 
• Experience in the care of the Post Angiogram Angioplasty patient (within the last 2 years) preferred
• Critical Care certificate preferred 
• Experience with pacemaker device analysing/programming is preferred
• Experience with sterile O.R. and aseptic techniques or Septic ORNAC standards is preferred
• Experience with managing an inter-aortic balloon pumps preferred
• Experience with AXIOM Sensis is preferred
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position – Lead Apron required
• Must be able to respond and attend BCH within 30 minutes

DEPARTMENT/CAMPUS:
Clinical Resource Team - Multiple Sites  

QUALIFICATIONS:    

•   Minimum 2 years recent experience working in Acute Medicine and Surgery required 

•   Flexibility, willingness and ability to float to Medical, Palliative, Respirology, CCC and Surgical Units as required on a daily basis 

•   Specialty clinical experiences is preferred     

DEPARTMENT/CAMPUS:
Surgical Suite – BCH, EGH and PMC

QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Experience within the last 5 years, with a minimum of 2 years in Operating Room preferred 

• Operating Room Certificate required

• Current Perioperative certification – CPN(c) preferred

• Knowledge of Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada of standards of practice required

DEPARTMENT/CAMPUS:       
Emergency – Brampton Civic Hospital/Etobicoke General Hospital

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, in a Medical Surgical unit required
  • Emergency experience within the last 5 years preferred
  • Demonstrated competency in Arrhythmia interpretation required (must pass an arrhythmia quiz with 80% prior to interview phase)
  • ACLS must be Heart and Stroke certified
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) Nurse Practitioner Candidate (NPC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Emergency Nursing Course (c) preferred
  • Coronary Care I required
  • Coronary Care II preferred

DEPARTMENT/CAMPUS:
IP ICU Combined - Brampton Civic Hospital
Critical Care – Etobicoke General Hospital

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience within the last 5 years, with minimum of 2 years in an acute medical/surgical unit along with the Critical Care Certificate is required OR
  • A minimum of 2 full years recent experience as a Critical Care Nurse required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
  • Coronary Care I required
  • Coronary Care II preferred

DEPARTMENT/CAMPUS:
6th West General Medicine – Etobicoke General Hospital
10th East Medicine– Etobicoke General Hospital

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years recent experience and interest in General Medicine with exemplary clinical practice in the related field required 

DEPARTMENT/CAMPUS:
Hemodialysis Day- Brampton Civic Hospital
Hemodialysis- Etobicoke General Hospital

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience within the last 5 years, with a minimum of 2 years in an Acute Care setting required 
  • Hemodialysis experience or Nephrology Certificate required or proof of enrollment required
  • Completion and application of the Vascular Access Modules from the Ontario Renal Network is required
  • Knowledge of the Nephrology Nursing Standards and Practice Recommendations and Canadian Association of Nephrology Nurses and Technologists (CANNT) as they relate to hemodialysis including all procedures pertaining to patient preparation, treatment and monitoring during and after procedure required
