Status: Temporary Part Time until August 2021
Rate of Pay: At a rate relative to the discipline and years of clinical experience

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at the COVID Immunization Clinic, located at Sperling Drive, Barrie, Ontario! Come on board to help protect and educate in the battle against COVID-19.  This opportunity is open to enthusiastic and engaging Regulated Health Care Professionals with competencies to administer vaccines under a medical directive.   You will be responsible for drawing up and administering vaccines, ensuring the cold chain of vaccine is maintained, monitoring for reactions post-immunization, following the form consent process, complying with workplace safety procedures and PPE policies and procedures. You are accountable and responsible for ensuring optimal patient care outcomes within a delivery model in accordance with the organizational philosophy, policies and standards of care of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, your professional regulating College, and all relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
•Support large-scale immunization program in response to Covid -19 Pandemic
•Safely administer vaccine according to standardized protocol
•Records details of the vaccine dose and lot number within an electronic system
•Responds to patient queries and concerns in a professional, respectful and courteous way
•Works with the site supervisor to maximize the efficiency of the immunization areas
•Performs other duties as required
•Training and relevant Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided
•PPE must be worn at all times

As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:
•Must be licensed to practice and in good standing as a regulated health care provider
•BCLS certification required
•Current ACLS certification an asset
•IM injection experience required
•Membership in professional association
•Computer literacy in current software applications
•Experience working in mass immunization clinics preferred
•Previous Immunization clinic training preferred
•Effective subjective and physical assessment skills to monitor for adverse reaction; seeks assistance and escalates as per protocol
