Job Description:

Clinic Hours of Operation: 7am-3pm, 7 days a week

  • Position may require weekend and holiday work

This role will report to the Director, Operations and will perform management acts as required including but not limited to:

  • Lead by example and ensure that the nursing team provides care and services within the HFC Vision, Mission and Values
  • Provide ongoing coaching and leadership to the surgery nursing team to support individual and team professional development
  • Foster a culture within the surgery nursing team of “excellent patient care”
  • Develop and implement an effective and efficient service delivery model and schedule with appropriate rotations that meets patient, staff, physician and organization needs
  • Support the growth and development of the Early Pregnancy Program including relationship building within the community
  • Assess daily operations in the procedures area for inefficiencies
  • Develop, maintain, update, and implement surgery centre policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with other HFC teams to ensure efficient patient flow through patient care areas
  • Work closely with the Medical Director to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and licensing including CPSO and OHPIP
  • Liaison with other Hannam Fertility Centre leaders to support the overall patient flow throughout the centre at all points of contact

Educational, Certification and Technical Requirements:

  • Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and Professional Liability Protection (PLP)
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Current CPR/BLS
  • Previous management experience preferred with special interest in fertility or an operating room
  • Previous experience with program building or project management considered an asset
  • Minimum three years’ experience as an RN within an operating room or surgery center environment
  • Previous experience in OBGYN environments considered an asset

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will work to implement processes that will help deliver patient-focused care to a diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will be organized, meticulous, and able to provide clear direction. They will have exceptional communication skills, and have an interest the development of a surgical centre.

  • Patient focused approach with strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
  • Skills in managerial aspects of problem solving, collaboration, staffing, and project management
  • Able to provide clear direction and expectations for staff
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong oral and written skills are required along with familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Highly effective organizational skills and adaptability
  • Proven ability to work independently while following procedures
