The Health Services Department of Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council is currently looking to hire RN’s, RPN’s and PSW’s for multiple positions within Iroquois Lodge Nursing Home.

Iroquois Lodge Nursing Home is a long-term care facility.  Our focus is the care we provide to our residents and the community we live in. Our ultimate goal is the individualized care, which emphasizes a holistic approach. The care we provide addresses the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, restorative, recreational, ethno-cultural, spiritual and environmental needs of each Resident. Registered Nurse and Registered Practical Nurse Job Summary:

  • Provide safe, competent and quality nursing care to residents
  • Some RN positions may require supervising RPNs and PSWs
  • Demonstrate competence at current level of nursing practice and will seek out assistance from Manager to address areas of practice with which he/she/they is unfamiliar within the policies and procedures established by Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council

Registered Nurse and Registered Practical Nurse Basic Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and Registration with the RNAO
  • Will have a current First Aid & CPR
  • Will have influenza vaccination yearly and have all other immunizations up to date with verification from public health or family physician
  • Willing to work a rotating schedule of shifts and weekends
  • Must provide a clear police clearance review before employment and as requested throughout employment

Personal Support Worker Job Summary:

  • Provide safe and quality personal care to residents with an acceptable standard of skill and with a sense of responsibility and respect for privacy
  • Provide personal care within established administrative policies, physician orders, standards of nursing practice, and Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care regulations and legislation
  • Understand that residents’ needs come first within the policies and procedures established by Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council

Personal Support Worker Basic Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker Program
  • Medical Certificate of good health and up to date immunization record including willingness to have mandatory yearly influenza vaccination
  • Willing to work a rotating schedule of shifts and weekends
  • Must provide a clear Police Clearance Review before employment
