Long-Term Care Best Practice Coordinator, North York, North Scarborough, York Region
The Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario, with the support of the Government of Ontario, manages the Long-Term Care Best Practices Program to enhance quality care in long-term care (LTC) through the role of the LTC Best Practice Co-ordinator.
We have a vacancy in the North York, North Scarborough and York Region catchment area, and we are seeking an accomplished RN to take a lead role in facilitating utilization of best practices in long-term care homes. This is a full-time position.
As a Long-Term Care Best Practice Coordinator you will support the implementation of evidence-based practices in LTC homes within the area noted above.. You will participate in development of strategies and approaches to integrate best practice guidelines and other evidence-based practices in LTC by working with the leadership teams at the homes, as well as the clinical team, including, regulated and unregulated staff. This is a consultative role, and requires in-person site visits to the assigned homes to coach and support their implementation efforts. As a member of the Long-Term Care Best Practices Program team, you will be involved in both local and provincial best practice implementation activities and projects. You will seek out and co-ordinate opportunities for the promotion and use of evidence-based best practices in LTC homes. You are a Registered Nurse (masters degree preferred), currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario with a minimum of five years progressive experience in nursing, which includes two years experience in the long-term care sector. You must be familiar with current LTC legislation, knowledgeable about the principles of evidence-based practice and possess experience in implementing RNAO best practice guidelines. You also have experience in using adult education and change management principles. Team building skills; consultation and coaching skills; leadership and motivational skills; project management experience; knowledge of long-term care programs; strong facilitation skills; and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders are a must in this role. A current driver’s license and a vehicle is required for regular travel within the region and surrounding area. The ideal candidate, in addition to the above, will reside within the catchment area of North Toronto, North Scarborough or York Region.
