Clinical Supervisor, Client Care
Temporary Assignment (1 year)

Personal Attendant Care Inc. is a charitable non-profit organization, in the Durham Region, providing personal support and assisted living to individuals with physical disabilities, allowing them to remain independent in their community. We are currently seeking a committed individual in the Community Support Services Department to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of service to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
 Ensures all clients continue to meet eligibility requirements
 Supports the Assessors to determine eligibility of potential client
 Monitors client waiting lists, admissions and discharges
 Provides advice/assistance when necessary to clients on accessing other community support/resources
 Provides education and information as required to clients, families and Personal Support Worker’s
 Supports the Assessors to ensure that the working environment is safe for our staff and clients
 Investigates and follow up with all health and safety concerns brought forward
 Authorizes employee vacations/days off/changes in availability in assistance from the Assessor and Customer Service Representative
 Review bi-weekly schedules to ensure meeting Collective Agreement requirements
 Provides supervision and delegates responsibilities and tasks to Personal Support Workers
 Performs Personal Support Worker’s on-site evaluations prior to the end of their probationary period
 Participates in the orientation of new employees with the Human Resources Department
 Identifies training needs of employees and establishes a training plan
 Delegation of Duties – bowel treatment, intermittent cauterization. Supervise and monitor staff completing delegated tasks
 Maintains current knowledge of health care trends with continuous education
 Chairs and participates in various committees/meetings
 Follows Collective Agreement, labour relations processes, relevant policies and procedures and maintain a professional relationship with Union
 A RN/RPN degree with current Certification of Registration
 Two (2) years progressive experience working in community healthcare
 Demonstrated leadership, relationship management, facilitation, negotiation and problem solving skills
 A team player with excellent communication skills who is committed to providing the highest level of client service and care
 Computer skills and the ability to use a variety of software programs
 Ability to prioritize, multi-task and deal with competing priorities
 Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, negotiation and problem solving
 Flexible to work on-call and weekends is required
 Demonstrated skills in organization and time management
 Knowledge of Canadian Council for Health Services Accreditation
 Knowledge of legislation governing health care activities in Ontario
 Flexibility to deal with interruptions and to meet deadlines
 A Class G provincial driver’s license and a vehicle are required. Willingness to travel within the Durham Region is required
