Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer/Vice President Clinical Services, this position is accountable for management of human resources and operations of the medical unit, long term care home and the emergency department. As a dynamic leader, the manager will demonstrate strong budget management skills; promote effective team building and talent development. In addition, will demonstrate creativity, flexibility, innovation, and champion best practice standards and excellence in quality of care. With effective problem solving and communication skills that support the ability to build relationships, the individual will demonstrate a proven passion for engaging employees and promoting a supportive and productive work culture that adheres to, and promotes, the DRDH standards of behavior.
The ideal candidate will be registered with the College of Nurses’ of Ontario and hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a Health Management diploma and/or degree preferred. The individual will have a minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse. This individual should possess three to five years of relevant and progressive healthcare management experience in a unionized environment with experience in facilitating change and in project management.
