Director of Hospice and Palliative Care Services


The successful candidate will extend our mission to hospice and community palliative care clients and their families through the provision of skilled, compassionate care. The Director is responsible for fostering a culture of hospitality that supports the philosophy and values of hospice/palliative care.  We are seeking a strategic leader who is committed to developing quality programs and services; creating an optimal interdisciplinary employment environment; and possesses the knowledge and skills to forge strong, collaborative relationships across sector and stakeholders groups.


The successful candidate will possess a university degree and relevant work experience in a related field. Education and/or experience in hospice palliative care is an asset. Demonstrated ability to develop and lead a interdisciplinary care team is required. Experience in recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating staff is required.  Demonstrated experience in evaluating, adapting and monitoring care provision models is an asset.  Must be able to develop, administer and maintain the quality assurance program, education program, environmental and infection control policies. Strong interpersonal skills as well as superior problem-solving skill is required.  Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices related to the provision of hospice/community palliative care is required. We are seeking a candidate with at least 5 years of progressive management experience and proven leadership in the delivery of quality clinical services.


A demonstrated commitment to the mission values of hospitality, responsibility, availability, adaptability, quality and dignity is essential. Fluency in French and/or a language in addition to English is an asset. A valid Ontario driver’s license is required.
