We are currently seeking: Manager, Professional Practice - Permanent Full-time
The Manager of Professional Practice leads the development, implementation and maintenance of profession-specific and inter-professional practice standards across the organization. The Manager works with key clinical and operational leaders and within a program-management structure to advance a collaborative practice environment by leading the advancement of professional practice and education to optimize care outcomes and ensure excellence in healthcare delivery.
As a key leader within the Quality, Best Practice, Research and Education team, the Manager of Professional Practice works closely with the Manager of Research and Evaluation and the Manager of Quality, Client Safety and Client Experience. The Manager oversees a team of professional practice specialists and clinical educators with accountability for the development and implementation of evidence-based clinical practices, procedures and strategies to advance best practice across all three lines of business - nursing, rehab and personal support. The Manager interprets current research findings on best practice; leads program and curriculum development for clinical education; champions VHAs digital learning strategy; develops structures and processes for the advancement of inter-professional practice and education; ensures compliance with quality and risk management initiatives including client safety; and makes certain all activities align to VHAs strategic priorities, policies and procedures.
As the successful candidate, you are a regulated health professional, are a member in good standing with your College and have attained a related Masters Degree. Ideally, you hold an academic appointment or are eligible for appointment. You have experience leading inter-professional and/or multidisciplinary teams; have current knowledge of the Regulated Health Professions Act and practice standards across professions; have knowledge of CQI and research methodologies; have progressive experience in the health care field (with recent experience at the leadership level effectively managing human and financial resources); have a good understanding of service delivery issues in the community health care sector; are an effective communicator with proven ability to use knowledge-transfer techniques to bring research to the point-of-care; and, you model a management style that is inclusive, strategic and creative.
