Job Description

Under the direction of the President & CEO, the ADMINSTRATOR, CLIENT CARE SERVICES will plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate Resident care services throughout Shepherd Village, and work in collegial cooperation with other members of the Senior Management team.


The successful candidate will possess a working knowledge of the long-term care and retirement homes’ legislative framework, inspection protocols and accreditation standards (E.g. LTCHA, RHA, OHSA, CARF, etc.) with an eye for continuous quality improvement and implementation of best practices. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service to our Residents, family members and staff, while promoting effective communication, team work and accountability.  In addition, the successful candidate will establish and foster meaningful partnerships with the local community, seek opportunities for growth through participation in government initiatives, funding arrangements, and through the development of new programs and services.


You will ensure Shepherd Village is in compliance with applicable legislation & standards through the development of policies, procedures and protocols that reflect Shepherd Village’s vision, mission and values, and that are in-line with our Strategic Plan. Through their implementation, you will ensure that all Residents of Shepherd Village receive excellent quality care & services which promote each Resident’s physical, spiritual, social and emotional well-being.


You will be expected to represent Shepherd Village in a professional manner, and demonstrate a high degree of ethics and integrity in your decision making, direction and overall leadership of the Client Care Services Management team.  You will demonstrate strong leadership, strategic planning, critical thinking and wisdom in resolving difficult and complicated challenges, ensuring diplomatic solutions that maintain amicable relationships with other departments, Residents, their family members and staff.


  • Post-graduate degree in Nursing (MScN), Health Administration, (MHA, MBA, etc), or equivalent, AND


  • Five (5) years’ experience working in a long-term care or retirement home setting  OR


  • Five (5) years’ general management experience at a senior level, and completed a program in long-term care home administration or management
