Job Description

Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Care the Nurse Manager oversees the provision of nursing services provided by the Registered Practical Nurses and Personal Support Workers on all shifts.  The position coordinates unit care with the other services.


  • Strong assessment skills and the ability to analyse data

  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills

  • Outstanding organizational skills to manage many competing timetables and responsibilities

  • Ability to exercise good judgement, tact and diplomacy

  • Empathetic attitude and desire to contribute towards the well-being of the elderly.



  • Current Certificate of Competence, Registered Nurses of Ontarioepartments, conducting CQI activities and acts as the Facility Manager off shifts.



  • Proficiency – Microsoft Office, Work, Excel

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills



  • Minimum of 3-5 year’s experience in the management of a Nursing department.

  • Current knowledge of geriatric/long term care best practice standards
